IAEA Chief: Inspections Suspended After Attacks on Iranian Nuclear Sites

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi stated that inspections in Iran have been suspended following attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities in June. Grossi noted limited cooperation from Iran after the attacks, though discussions were held in Cairo to address the situation.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, in an interview with the Austrian newspaper “Die Presse,” stated that IAEA inspectors are still present in Iran, but inspections have been suspended following attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities in June.

Grossi claimed that the main facilities suffered extensive damage, making inspections impossible for security reasons. He added that Iran has limited its cooperation with the agency since the attacks.

Grossi mentioned that the IAEA sought dialogue with the Iranian side and held negotiations in Cairo, resulting in an agreement. He noted that IAEA inspectors were able to visit all facilities that were not attacked.

However, Grossi stated that access to Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow remains impossible.
