Egyptian Intelligence Chief: Displacement of Palestinians from Gaza a Red Line

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the head of Egyptian intelligence, Hassan Rashad, stated that Egypt will not accept any displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
Rashad added that the contradictory positions of Israeli officials reflect Tel Aviv’s confusion regarding Gaza. He also noted that the transition to the second phase of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza remains uncertain for Netanyahu.
Furthermore, the Egyptian intelligence chief stated that Egypt will not accept the unilateral reopening of the Rafah crossing in a manner contrary to President Trump’s plan.
The Egyptian official emphasized that his country holds a “political veto” against Israel unilaterally reopening the Rafah crossing.
Cairo denied any coordination with Tel Aviv regarding the reopening of the Rafah crossing after the Zionist regime unilaterally announced its intention to reopen the crossing from the Gaza Strip towards Egypt.
Egypt’s denial came after Israel announced that it would reopen the Rafah crossing only for Palestinians to exit the Gaza Strip into Egypt, in accordance with the ceasefire agreement.
According to the Israeli website i24, Israel’s statement claimed that the exit of residents would be coordinated with Egypt and would occur after Israeli security approval, with the operation being monitored by the European Union delegation.
The U.S. State Department previously published a statement on X, welcoming the reopening of the crossing and describing it as further progress within the framework of Washington’s 20-point plan, but subsequently deleted the statement without explanation.
