Libya Clashes: Casualties Reported in Tripoli Fighting
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, sources in Libya report that clashes in the western Tripoli region have resulted in casualties.
The armed conflicts in Al-Zawiya, west of Tripoli, have left two people dead and three others wounded, according to local sources.
Libya Al-Hadath network cited hospital sources confirming deaths and injuries due to the armed clashes in Al-Zawiya.
Separately, Libya’s Emergency and Medical Relief Center reported one person injured in the Al-Zawiya clashes.
Years of conflict and instability have devastated Libya’s infrastructure, impacted its economy, and transformed it into a haven for armed groups.
Following Tunisia and Egypt, Libya was the third North African nation to experience anti-government protests in 2011, aimed at transitioning from a dictatorial political system to democracy. Fourteen years after the death of Muammar Gaddafi, Libya’s situation remains a cautionary tale for other countries.
