Russian Air Defenses Down 41 Ukrainian Drones Overnight

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia’s defense ministry announced on Friday that its air defense systems had shot down 41 Ukrainian drones during the previous night.
The ministry’s statement detailed the locations of the interceptions, specifying that nine drones were downed over the Samara region, nine over Crimea, eight over Saratov, seven over Volgograd, seven over Rostov, and one over Krasnodar.
President Vladimir Putin recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region on February 21, 2022, citing the West’s disregard for Moscow’s security concerns.
Following this, on February 24, 2022, Putin initiated what he termed a “special military operation” against Ukraine, escalating the strained relations between Moscow and Kyiv into direct military confrontation.
In response to Russia’s actions, the United States and Western countries have imposed extensive sanctions on Moscow and have provided billions of dollars in military aid to Kyiv.
