Slovakia’s Prime Minister Fico Calls Ukraine a ‘Black Hole’ for European Funds

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Slovakia‘s Prime Minister Robert Fico has voiced strong criticism against continued financial support for Ukraine.
In a Facebook post, Fico described Ukraine as a ‘black hole’ that is not only absorbing billions of euros but also undermining the economic stability and long-term prospects of the European Union.
Fico reiterated his opposition to allocating EU funds for Ukraine’s military needs. He stated that expressing reservations about funding arms purchases during EU leaders’ meetings is frowned upon, due to the prevailing perception that such funding is obligatory.
The Slovak Prime Minister assessed the EU as facing a serious crisis. He highlighted the challenges the EU faces in financing the conflict in Ukraine. He warned that utilizing Russian assets would undermine the credibility of Eurozone financial institutions, while relying on internal EU resources would exacerbate inflation across the region.
