EU Foreign Policy Chief Warns Israeli Attacks Fuel Instability in Lebanon

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas addressed several critical geopolitical issues on Monday, including the situations in Lebanon, Syria, Russia, and the role of China in global economics.
Kallas emphasized the fragility of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, asserting that ongoing Israeli attacks are exacerbating instability within Lebanon.
Regarding Syria, Kallas acknowledged the significant challenges the country continues to face, stating that merely lifting sanctions would not be sufficient to revitalize its economy.
In her statement, Kallas also announced that the EU would impose new sanctions on Russia’s shadow fleet. She accused China of leveraging economic relationships to achieve political objectives. Furthermore, she noted that EU countries have agreed to utilize frozen Russian assets to finance Ukraine, deeming the confiscation and use of these assets as the optimal method for compensating damages resulting from Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Kallas also claimed that if Putin were to gain control of the Donbas region in Ukraine, he would demand further concessions.
