U.S. Military Continues Pacific Attacks on Boats; Five Killed

The U.S. military has announced another attack on two boats in the Eastern Pacific, resulting in the deaths of five people, amid rising tensions with Venezuela over oil exports and alleged ‘narcoterrorism’. These operations coincide with increased pressure on Venezuela by the U.S. government.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the U.S. military has reported a new attack on two boats in the Eastern Pacific, leading to five fatalities.

In a statement, the U.S. military confirmed that its forces conducted two attacks against the vessels, resulting in the deaths of five individuals.

The U.S. Southern Command (Southcom) claimed that three people died in the first boat and two in the second, adding that no U.S. forces were harmed during the operation.

On Wednesday, December 16, 2025, the U.S. military also announced that four men were killed during a military attack on a vessel in the Pacific Ocean.

These operations occur as the U.S. government intensifies pressure on Venezuela on two fronts: military action against what Washington terms ‘narcoterrorism’ and the enforcement of a blockade against the country’s oil exports.

On Tuesday, December 15, 2025, President Donald Trump ordered a ‘complete and all-out’ blockade of sanctioned oil tankers entering or leaving Venezuela.

In response, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro ordered the country’s navy to escort ships carrying petroleum products as they depart from ports.

American media reports indicate that the Venezuelan Navy has recently escorted several tankers carrying oil products to Asia, a move that defense analysts see as a sign of escalating tensions and an increased risk of military confrontation.
