New York City Tops List of Cities with Most Billionaire Residents in 2025

New York City leads the world with the highest concentration of billionaire residents, according to recent data, underscoring its continued dominance in global finance and investment. The city is home to 109 billionaires, far surpassing other major urban centers.

According to the Economic Desk of Webangah News Agency, billionaire wealth is increasingly concentrated in major urban hubs worldwide. Data from Forbes’ annual list of global billionaires indicates that New York City holds a significant lead, housing 109 billionaires.

This dominance reflects decades of financial leadership, global capital flows, and a concentration of investment firms, real estate wealth, and corporate headquarters. No other city approaches this level of billionaire density.

Hong Kong, ranking second, lags significantly with 74 billionaire residents, highlighting New York’s unique wealth ecosystem. Asian cities, including Mumbai, Beijing, Shanghai, and Singapore, also feature prominently in the top rankings.

Moscow boasts 73 billionaires, securing its place among the top cities for ultra-high-net-worth individuals. London follows closely with 62 billionaires.

Other notable cities in the top 20 include San Francisco, Delhi, Shenzhen, Los Angeles, Taipei, Hangzhou, Seoul, Paris, Tokyo, Bangkok, Milan, and Dallas. Each of these cities plays a crucial role in the global distribution of wealth.

Asian cities represent a substantial portion of the ranking. China alone accounts for multiple cities, showcasing the country’s growing economic power.

India’s presence with Mumbai and Delhi underscores its expanding billionaire class, driven by rapid economic growth, large domestic markets, and strong technology and manufacturing sectors.

Despite Asia’s rise, traditional wealth centers in Europe and North America remain competitive. London, Paris, and Milan continue to host significant concentrations of ultra-wealthy residents.

U.S. cities like Dallas, Chicago, and Palm Beach, though outside the top 20, illustrate the distribution of billionaire wealth across finance, technology, energy, and real estate sectors. Smaller but influential cities like Palo Alto highlight the immense wealth creation driven by technology.
