Iraq Moves to Strengthen Air Defense with Advanced French Radar Systems

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraq‘s Defense Ministry has prioritized the strengthening of its air defense and air force capabilities, announcing on Saturday the acquisition of highly advanced French radar systems. The ministry confirmed that six French-made Caracal aircraft will soon be delivered to bolster Iraq’s security forces.
The new radar systems are expected to enable Iraq to counter various aerial threats effectively. Additionally, Baghdad is collaborating with South Korea to acquire mid-range defense platforms as part of its broader strategy to modernize its military infrastructure.
The Defense Ministry reiterated its commitment to equipping Iraq’s air force and air defense with cutting-edge weaponry and advanced technology to address emerging security challenges.
