Israel Considers Ground Operation in Lebanon Amid Hezbollah Tensions

Israeli media reports indicate Tel Aviv is evaluating a ground operation in Lebanon to counter Hezbollah, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discusses expanded attacks with US President Donald Trump.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hebrew media reported on Friday that Israel is considering a ground operation in Lebanon to address what it describes as the “threat posed by Hezbollah.” During a meeting with US President Donald Trump in Florida, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu raised the issue of expanding military operations into Lebanese territory.

Reports suggest that Hezbollah has partially rebuilt its capabilities during the ceasefire, while the Lebanese government has been unable to counter the group effectively. Israeli state broadcaster claimed the Trump administration does not oppose Israeli action against Hezbollah but has urged Netanyahu to exercise patience to allow for further negotiations with Beirut.

In recent months, Israel has conducted limited strikes and pressure campaigns against Hezbollah positions in Lebanon to curb the group’s military strength. Meanwhile, the Lebanese government has attempted to collect illegal weapons and exert control over armed factions, including Hezbollah.

Hezbollah has rejected full disarmament, asserting its right to self-defense and maintaining missile capabilities, while calling for continued resistance against Israeli threats. Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah remain high, with analysts warning of a potential escalation in hostilities.
