Uruguayan Lawmaker Condemns US Operation to Abduct Venezuela’s Maduro as ‘Terrorist Act’

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Gabriel Otero, a member of Uruguay‘s Broad Front party, has strongly criticized the US-led operation in Caracas that resulted in the abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, labeling it a ‘terrorist act.’ Otero emphasized that the incident was not an arrest but a ‘kidnapping’ and ‘military invasion’ that must be condemned.
Otero argued that US President Donald Trump’s primary motive was access to Venezuela’s vast oil reserves and wealth, dismissing claims of justice as shortsighted. He also referenced Trump’s legal issues, including ties to Jeffrey Epstein, suggesting the US leader might face sexual assault charges before Maduro.
The lawmaker accused rival Uruguayan parties of prioritizing political attacks on the Broad Front over concerns about US actions in Venezuela. Federico Pereyra, another Broad Front representative, also condemned the US military intervention, highlighting deep political divisions in Uruguay over Venezuela and America’s regional role.
