White House Announces Formation of ‘Peace Council’ as Part of Trump’s Gaza Plan

The White House has unveiled a ‘Peace Council’ to oversee the implementation of President Donald Trump’s comprehensive plan to end the war in Gaza, alongside the establishment of a Palestinian National Committee to administer the region.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the White House announced the formation of a ‘Peace Council’ on Friday, a body tasked with strategically overseeing the execution of a comprehensive plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip. This initiative, comprising 20 clauses, focuses on sustainable peace, stability, economic reconstruction, and development, while emphasizing accountability, the use of international resources, and the management of the transition from war to development.

The Peace Council, chaired by President Donald Trump, includes prominent figures with backgrounds in diplomacy, development, economics, and infrastructure. Among its members are U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, American billionaire Mark Rowan, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and U.S. political advisor Robert Gabriel. Each member has been assigned specific responsibilities in areas such as governance, regional relations, reconstruction, investment attraction, and financing.

Additionally, Arie Lightstone and Josh Greenbaum have been appointed as advisors to the Peace Council, tasked with strategic leadership, daily operations, and translating the council’s diplomatic priorities into disciplined execution.

A parallel ‘Gaza Executive Council’ has also been established to support the Office of the High Representative and the Palestinian National Committee for Gaza Administration. This council includes regional and international figures such as former UN envoy Nikolay Mladenov as High Representative for Gaza, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Qatari diplomat Ali Al-Thawadi, Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy, Israeli businessman Yakar Gabay, and Dutch politician Sigrid Kaag.

The White House has appointed U.S. General Jasper Jeffers as commander of the International Stabilization Force, responsible for monitoring the ceasefire and taking necessary actions to achieve the goals of the comprehensive plan. The force’s missions include the permanent disarmament of Gaza, the destruction and prevention of military infrastructure reconstruction, civilian protection, and coordination for humanitarian corridors.

The Palestinian National Committee for Gaza Administration, led by former Palestinian Planning Minister Ali Shaath, will handle daily executive management within Gaza, focusing on rebuilding essential public services, reviving civil institutions, restoring stability to daily life, and establishing sustainable and self-reliant governance infrastructure.

The White House emphasized that this initiative aligns with UN Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025), which recognizes Trump’s comprehensive plan and welcomes the Peace Council as an international mechanism to advance the resolution and reconstruction of Gaza. The U.S. has also reported full coordination with Israel, Arab states, and the international community, urging all parties to cooperate with the Peace Council, the National Committee, and the Stabilization Force.

Several Arab countries have welcomed the formation of the Peace Council and the launch of the second phase of the U.S. plan. The Persian Gulf Cooperation Council described the move as part of a broader political path, emphasizing the need to stabilize the ceasefire, continue humanitarian aid, and support Palestinian rights and a two-state solution. Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry endorsed the Palestinian National Committee for Gaza Administration as a transitional body based on the UN Security Council resolution, while Jordan praised the U.S. role and the efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, stressing Palestinian territorial unity and early recovery.
