Internet Disruptions Persist in Iran Due to External Restrictions, Says Communications Official

According to the Economic Desk of Webangah News Agency, Behzad Akbari, Deputy Minister of Communications and CEO of the Infrastructure Telecommunications Company, stated that internet services in Iran have not yet returned to normal conditions. The current issues stem from restrictions outside the authority of the Ministry of Communications.
Akbari clarified that while the Infrastructure Telecommunications Company is not responsible for these decisions, it is actively working through various channels to resolve the disruptions. He warned that the prolonged instability severely harms the digital ecosystem and daily public access.
The official also dismissed rumors about changes to Iran’s internet architecture, tiered internet services, or whitelists as entirely baseless. He stressed that stable internet is not merely an option but a critical necessity for the economy and digital transformation.
