Turkish President Erdogan Condemns Israel’s Recognition of Somaliland as Violation of Somalia’s Sovereignty

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly condemned Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, calling it a direct challenge to Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial unity. Speaking at a local meeting, Erdogan emphasized that any decision regarding Somaliland must reflect the collective will of all Somali people.
The Israeli regime’s move has sparked widespread international criticism, with many nations rejecting the unilateral recognition of the breakaway region. Gideon Sa’ar, the Israeli Foreign Minister, became the first high-ranking official to visit Somaliland on January 6, where he met with its self-declared leader.
Somaliland, which declared independence from Somalia in 1991, has not been recognized by any country and operates as an autonomous region. The recent diplomatic move by Israel has further complicated the geopolitical landscape in the Horn of Africa.
