Netanyahu Orders Removal of ‘State of Palestine’ Stamp from Passports

Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly ordered the review of replacing the ‘State of Palestine’ stamp on Palestinian passports with ‘Peace Council’ for those crossing the Rafah border. This move signals a further distancing from acknowledging Palestinian statehood.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, citing reports from Mehr News Agency and Yedioth Ahronoth, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed officials to explore replacing the “State of Palestine” stamp on Palestinian passports with the phrase “Peace Council” at the Rafah crossing.

Political sources indicate that Netanyahu is actively seeking to replace the official stamp of the Palestinian Authority, specifically the phrase “State of Palestine,” with the term “so-called Peace Council.”

During a session of the Israeli regime’s war cabinet, David Zini, head of the Shabak service, noted that Palestinian passports at the Rafah crossing still bear the “State of Palestine” stamp.

Netanyahu stated that Tel Aviv does not utilize symbols of the Palestinian Authority and will not permit the Authority’s involvement in the administration of the Gaza Strip. It is noteworthy that the Palestinian Authority, through its extensive security and political collaborations with Tel Aviv, has become a pawn of the Israeli regime in the West Bank.
