Indonesia Readies Troops for Gaza Deployment Under Trump Peace Initiative

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Indonesian military has announced its preparedness to potentially deploy forces to the Gaza Strip. This anticipated action is framed within the context of the ‘International Peace Council’ mission, which forms a key component of the strategy put forth by United States President Donald Trump to bring an end to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
This strategic move by the Indonesian military is the result of a directive issued by the nation’s President. General Maruli Simanjuntak, the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army, confirmed that the necessary training for eligible personnel designated for the Gaza peacekeeping operation has commenced. These training exercises encompass specialized medical units as well as mechanized infantry elements.
The Chief of Staff noted that specific details regarding the exact number of personnel to be deployed and the precise timeline for their deployment remain undetermined at this stage. However, he indicated that a typical military brigade is composed of between five to eight thousand personnel. The current operational focus is heavily concentrated on equipping and preparing these contingents.
Prior reports from Israeli sources suggested preliminary preparations were being made in an area situated between Rafah and Khan Younis in southern Gaza to accommodate the incoming Indonesian military contingent. Furthermore, the Indonesian President is reportedly scheduled to travel to Washington D.C. to attend the Peace Council meeting, which is set to be chaired by President Donald Trump. Earlier, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto had publicly stated his country’s capacity to dispatch up to 20,000 soldiers to Gaza.
