Russia Ready to Resolve Ukraine Crisis Based on Alaska Accords, Says Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow is prepared to pursue a negotiated resolution to the Ukraine crisis grounded in the understandings reached during the prior meeting between President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump in Alaska. Lavrov also emphasized the necessity of strategic stability mechanisms following the expiration of the New START Treaty.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that Moscow is prepared to seek a negotiated solution for the Ukraine crisis based on the understandings established during the Russia-United States summit held in Alaska between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. The statement signals a potential path toward de-escalation anchored in previous high-level agreements.

Lavrov stressed that Russia will staunchly oppose the use of double standards and any attempts to impose discordant solutions upon ongoing conflicts. Furthermore, he pointed out that with the conclusion of the New START Treaty, it is crucial to ensure the requisite level of predictability within the sphere of strategic stability.

During his remarks, the Russian Foreign Minister also underscored his solidarity with the populations of Venezuela and Cuba, both nations currently experiencing significant external pressure. Looking toward future cooperation, Lavrov indicated that the existing military fraternity between the armed forces of Russia and North Korea, a bond historically forged during the liberation of the Kursk region, should be transformed into mutually beneficial collaborative projects.
