US Secretary of State Questions UN Effectiveness in Resolving Global Conflicts

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio used the platform of the Munich Security Conference to voice significant reservations regarding the practical efficacy of the United Nations in mediating ongoing international conflicts. Rubio claimed that although the UN boasts a high degree of capacity, it fails to react or actively participate in resolving the most vital global issues.
The top American diplomat argued that the UN proved incapable of halting the conflict in Ukraine, emphasizing that negotiations between the involved parties only commenced thanks to American intervention. This critique centers on the expectation that the organization should maintain impartiality and provide meaningful resolution mechanisms during global crises.
Furthermore, Secretary Rubio highlighted the severe threat posed by the unprecedented scale of migration across the Western world, stating that these movements challenge the cohesion and future stability of these nations.
Addressing transatlantic relations, Rubio clarified that any disagreements between Washington and Brussels stem from deep-seated concerns regarding the future trajectory of Europe. He stressed that the United States harbors no desire for separation from its allies but is instead focused on revitalizing the long-standing friendship with European partners.
On the subject of military aid, the Secretary of State confirmed that the program for supplying American weaponry to meet Ukraine’s defense requirements remains fully operational without any interruption. He concluded by stating that Washington will persist in its efforts toward achieving peace in Ukraine, acknowledging that the list of contentious issues remains challenging, and work to resolve them is ongoing.
