Pakistan Claims Destruction of Taliban Bases in Afghanistan; Kabul Condemns Airspace Violation

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Pakistan‘s military has asserted that it utilized its right to legitimate defense against Afghanistan. Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry, spokesperson for the Pakistan Army, detailed the actions, stating that 73 border posts were destroyed and 18 centers were brought under control. Chaudhry emphasized that all targets in Afghanistan were military in nature and that the strikes were carried out with precision. He further claimed that 274 Taliban officials and elements have been killed since last night, with no civilian centers being targeted. The Pakistani military spokesperson also stated that 12 army soldiers were killed during the repulsion of night-time attacks by Afghan forces.
In response, Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Afghan government, accused Pakistan of violating Afghan airspace and repeatedly targeting civilians. He stressed that Afghanistan reserves its right to legitimate defense. Mujahid characterized Pakistan’s internal conflict as an internal matter and deemed the imposition of Pakistan’s internal problems onto Afghanistan unacceptable. The Afghan government spokesperson reiterated the call for dialogue and the pursuit of a peaceful resolution to disputes, urging the settlement of issues through understanding.
