Lebanon-US-Israel Military Talks Conclude After Nine Hours; No Ceasefire Agreement Reached

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Al Mayadeen network reported that nine hours of military negotiations between Lebanon, the United States, and Israel have concluded. The talks were held at the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon).
Citing an official Lebanese source, the news network stated that the Lebanese military delegation participating in the Pentagon meeting did not succeed in obtaining the Israeli side’s agreement to establish a real ceasefire. According to this source, the Lebanese military delegation emphasized the necessity of a complete halt to the conflicts and the establishment of a ceasefire during the negotiations, but faced repeated opposition from the Israeli side.
The official Lebanese source also announced that the Israeli delegation rejected withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territories and insisted on the “dissolution of Hezbollah.” Hours earlier, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, citing an informed source, reported that the Israeli delegation at the Pentagon negotiations rejected Beirut’s proposal for the withdrawal of the Israeli army from Lebanon. According to this source, who requested anonymity, the Israeli delegation claimed that the Israeli army would not withdraw from Lebanon as long as a threat exists there.
