Iranian Missile Strike Injures U.S. Personnel, Damages Drones in Kuwait

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, an Iranian ballistic missile strike on a military airbase in Kuwait on Thursday morning led to injuries among American personnel and severe damage to two MQ-9 Reaper attack drones, Bloomberg reported.
Citing an informed source directly privy to the attack details, Bloomberg stated that approximately five individuals, including contractors and active-duty military personnel, sustained injuries. One Reaper drone was reportedly destroyed entirely, with at least one other suffering substantial damage. The estimated value of each drone is approximately $30 million.
The source also claimed that Kuwaiti air defense systems successfully intercepted a Fateh-110 missile. However, debris from the intercepted missile subsequently struck the Ali Al-Salem airbase.
Experts have questioned the assertion regarding the missile debris impacting the Ali Al-Salem base, suggesting that such debris would not be capable of destroying hardened drone hangars or heavily fortified U.S. facilities. This view was reported by Mehr News Agency.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed in a statement on Thursday morning that it had targeted a U.S. airbase in response to an American attack.
The IRGC statement indicated that following the U.S. military’s aggression earlier on Thursday in the vicinity of Bandar Abbas airport with aerial projectiles, the originating U.S. airbase was targeted at 4:50 AM.
The IRGC described the strike as a “serious warning” and cautioned that Iran’s response would be “more decisive” if U.S. attacks were repeated.
