Iraq Welcomes Over 4 Million Pilgrims Since Start of Muharram

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraq has seen a significant surge in pilgrims entering the country since the start of the Muharram Islamic month. Official statistics indicate that a total of 4,007,257 pilgrims have crossed into Iraq as of the night before the report.

These figures were announced by Saad Maan, head of the security information unit in Iraq, citing data released by the relevant authorities. This number reflects the ongoing pilgrimage activities and the continued arrival of international visitors.

Earlier, on Thursday, the Arbaeen Command and Control Center, affiliated with Iraq’s security information unit, had reported that the number of pilgrims entering the country since the beginning of Muharram had surpassed 2,887,000. The continuous flow of foreign pilgrims underscores the religious significance of the period and Iraq’s role as a destination for these journeys.
