China Calls for De-escalation, Urges Iran and US to Rebuild Negotiation Framework

Beijing has urged both Iran and the United States to de-escalate tensions and work towards establishing a permanent negotiation framework, emphasizing that continued conflict serves neither nation’s interests.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China‘s Foreign Minister has stated that the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States is not beneficial for either party. He added that both sides are encouraged to take action to rebuild a negotiation framework based on a permanent agreement.

The remarks come as Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, arrived in Beijing shortly before and met with his Chinese counterpart. Yesterday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang stated at a weekly press briefing that Beijing is monitoring the situation in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf. He expressed hope that the relevant parties would resolve their differences through political and diplomatic means.
