Iraqi Political Activist Warns of Plot to Justify US Troop Presence

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Akram Fawzi Tarzi, a prominent Iraqi political figure, stated that foreign actors are actively involved in inciting ISIS affiliates in Kirkuk province. Recent movements by ISIS elements have been observed in the Al-Tuz region of the province.

Tarzi emphasized that these clashes are not coincidental but rather part of a deliberate strategy by certain parties to disrupt the withdrawal of American coalition forces from Iraqi territory. He asserted that these groups are fabricating pretexts to prolong the stay of foreign military personnel.

The activist further pointed out the synchronization of these terrorist attacks with political developments in Iraq aimed at ending the foreign military presence. This timing, he argued, indicates a broader scheme to destabilize the country and undermine the capabilities of Iraqi security forces.

Earlier reports indicated that two ISIS militants were killed in confrontations with security forces in Kirkuk.
