Strait of Hormuz Sees Record Low Vessel Traffic Amid Rising Tensions

International shipping data reveals the lowest number of vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz in over two months, coinciding with a recent surge in attacks on oil tankers traversing this critical waterway.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, international shipping data, as reported by Al Jazeera citing Mehr News Agency, indicates that vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has fallen to its lowest point in more than two months. This decline occurs as attacks on oil tankers passing through this vital chokepoint reached their highest level last week since the beginning of the war between the United States and the Zionist regime and Iran.

Data released by maritime analytics firm Kpler shows that only seven commercial ships transited the strait on Tuesday, marking the lowest figure since July 23. Emmanuelle Piloistriano and Yui Torikata, analysts at Kpler, noted in a recent report that crude oil transit volume through the strait decreased by 27% last week compared to its peak during the war, falling to a minimum of 10.1 million barrels per day.
