US Central Command Claims Interception of Iran-Linked Vessel in Gulf of Oman

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has claimed its forces intercepted a cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman that allegedly attempted to breach sanctions against Iran, according to reports.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), designated as a terrorist force by the U.S., has issued a statement alleging that its forces prevented a cargo ship from proceeding, which they claim was attempting to bypass the blockade imposed on Iran. The statement indicated that the vessel was disabled in the Gulf of Oman after its crew disregarded repeated warnings. A U.S. military aircraft targeted the commercial ship, flying under the Panamanian flag, as it sought to transit the regional waters. This ship had reportedly departed from an Iranian port prior to the incident. CENTCOM further asserted that its forces have stopped and disabled four commercial vessels and compelled 135 other ships to alter their course and return to their origin points over the past three months during the implementation of the blockade against Iran. The command also claimed that during the same period, they destroyed 10 oil tankers associated with a shadow network linked to Iranian forces, with an estimated value in the billions of dollars.
