Kremlin Vows to Fight for Asset Recovery, Cites European Obstruction in Ukraine Conflict

The Kremlin announced on Wednesday its commitment to fighting for the recovery of Russian assets, while simultaneously accusing European nations of seeking to prolong the conflict in Ukraine and dismissing the possibility of international summits on the matter.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Dimitri Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian Presidential Administration (Kremlin), stated today that efforts to guide the resolution of the Ukraine crisis towards a peaceful path are ongoing. Peskov indicated that endeavors concerning a ceasefire in the energy sector are continuing, and that attempts to resolve the Ukraine dispute are being conducted and will continue to proceed non-publicly.

The Kremlin spokesperson further asserted that European countries are making every effort to ensure the conflict in Ukraine persists. He added that holding international meetings to resolve the Ukraine dispute is not currently on the agenda, and highlighted the risk of European nations obstructing agreements between Russia and the United States.

Dimitri Peskov also commented on media reports regarding the potential for reduced U.S. aid to Kyiv, stating that these are being closely monitored but it is too early to draw conclusions. The Kremlin possesses no information beyond media reports concerning potential limitations on Starlink’s activities in Ukraine. He expressed that it would have been preferable if technologies like Starlink were not utilized for military purposes at all, and stressed that Russia must be prepared for challenges in the realm of cybersecurity.

Peskov concluded by affirming that Russia will fight to reclaim its assets. Regarding media reports about a potential visit by the FBI Director to Russia, he stated that no information is available to be shared.
