Yemen Denies Saudi Claims of Drone Interception Near Medina

Yemen’s armed forces spokesperson, Yahya Saree, has refuted Saudi Arabia’s assertions of intercepting drones targeting Medina, labeling the claims as a blatant lie and a great slander against the Yemeni people.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yemen‘s armed forces spokesperson, Yahya Saree, stated that his forces did not conduct any military operations deep within Saudi territory on Wednesday. He described Saudi Arabia’s claim of targeting the Madinah Munawwarah region as a clear falsehood and a significant slander against the Yemeni nation and its armed forces.

Saree further elaborated, “The Saudi enemy’s claim of intercepting drones over Madinah Munawwarah is a false assertion and a great slander against our people and the Yemeni armed forces. These claims expose the enemy’s lies, and no member of the Arab and Islamic nation will accept them.”

This statement was issued in response to claims made by Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition. Al-Maliki had asserted earlier that the coalition’s air defense had intercepted and destroyed five drones launched towards Madinah Munawwarah and the Eastern Province.

However, hours prior to the Saudi claims, the Yemeni armed forces spokesperson had announced in a separate statement that their forces successfully targeted the operations room of forces affiliated with the Saudi enemy at the Badr camp in Aden Governorate with a ballistic missile. He noted that this attack was precise and successfully hit its intended target.
