Russia Dismisses Netanyahu’s Claims of Anti-Semitic Online Campaign

Moscow has refuted allegations by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accusing Russia of orchestrating an anti-Semitic online campaign, stating that the claims lack evidence and are timed with upcoming Israeli elections.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has categorically denied accusations leveled by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding Moscow’s alleged involvement in an “anti-Semitic” online campaign. The ministry asserted that these allegations are baseless and strategically timed to coincide with Israel’s elections on October 27.

The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed regret that such matters were raised in the media on the eve of elections, rather than through direct dialogue between cybersecurity experts from both nations. Moscow stated that Netanyahu had claimed Russia was initiating an anti-Semitic campaign by deploying robotic online networks to escalate anti-Israeli sentiments in Western countries.

The ministry recalled that Russia had proposed a bilateral agreement on information security cooperation with Israel in 2018, but received no response. Russia believes that such cooperation could have prevented the emergence of unfounded issues.

Russia further categorized these accusations within the broader context of disinformation, drawing parallels to past claims by former U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton about Russian hackers interfering in American elections. Moscow had previously described those claims as a significant falsehood.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs concluded by emphasizing that global perceptions of Israel are shaped solely by the actions and approaches of its officials.
