The Pakistani army has launched airstrikes and border attacks targeting Afghan frontier positions following a cross-border exchange of fire. This marks the fourth military clash between Pakistan and the Taliban over the past month amid escalating regional tensions.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, …

Pakistani media outlets reported that the nation’s military conducted targeted assaults on the Afghan border following gunfire initiated by Afghan government forces. The military operations specifically targeted border outposts situated in the Shalozan area along the Durand Line, as well as the Kurram region, through sustained bombardment.

Available data indicates that this recent confrontation represents the fourth military skirmish between Pakistan and the Taliban within the last month. Furthermore, United Nations reports state that Pakistani attacks inside Afghanistan have resulted in the deaths of 500 civilians over the past year.

Concurrently, Pakistani security sources announced that security forces successfully prevented an armed group from crossing the shared international border in the Shalozan sector of the Kurram district. Security officials noted that tensions escalated immediately after the infiltration attempt was blocked, prompting Afghan Taliban forces to open fire and drawing a direct retaliatory response from the Pakistani army.

Addressing the root causes of these persistent border tensions, Islamabad has repeatedly maintained that military operations will persist until militant attacks originating from Afghan territory are effectively addressed. In contrast, the Taliban administration consistently denies permitting any militant factions to utilize Afghan soil for operations against neighboring states.
