Laurov described the Israeli war against the Gaza Strip as “mass punishment” of the Palestinians and said: “These [actions] are prohibited under international humanitarian law.”
According to “Sputnik” news agency, he clarified about the spreading of lies and accusations by the Zionist regime to UNRWA, until a full investigation is done in this field, such measures should not be taken, including cutting off aid to this agency.
The Russian Foreign Minister explained: “If the investigation is carried out, it will be determined whether Israel’s accusations are true or false.” But if the investigation is not done and collective punishment is implemented instead, it will be clear that the decision is wrong.” According to reports, at least 11 countries, including America, England, Italy, Finland, The Netherlands, Australia, Canada, Scotland, Switzerland, France and Japan have suspended financial aid to UNRWA on the pretext of false lies published by the Zionists.
