Russia: We respond to the deployment of American nuclear weapons in England

According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, the Russian government warned today (Monday) about any deployment of American nuclear weapons in any country of the European continent.

“Gennadi Gatilov, the permanent representative of Russia at the European headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva, said that Moscow is closely following the information about the US plans to deploy nuclear weapons in England.

Gatilov in an interview with “Russia 24” TV channel warned about this that if America’s nuclear weapons are deployed on British soil, Russia will have to take appropriate retaliatory action.

He explained: “The topic of conversation We are likely to reactivate an air base in England with American nuclear weapons. There are also talks about the potential transfer of [US] nuclear weapons to the Baltic countries, including Poland. We are monitoring the course of developments. If this happens, Russia will react accordingly”.

Before this, the “Telegraph” newspaper reported based on Pentagon documents that the United States plans to, for the first time in 15 years, under the pretext of “Russia’s growing threat” to deploy its nuclear weapons on British soil.

Gatilov, in another part of his speech, referred to the passive and very short response of the United Nations to the recent Ukrainian attacks on civilian cities. Russia also reacted.

According to “Sputnik” news agency, he stated that such a reaction from the United Nations is not surprising, because Volker Turk, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and his affiliated institution are completely and openly supporters of the Kiev and pro-Western regime.
