Fars News Agency International Group, while pointing out that America’s patience has come to an end in the story of Hungary’s stonewalling on the path of Sweden’s membership in this pact, NATO allies give a serious warning to this country to change its positions.
Jake Sullivan, the American national security adviser, has stated that he and his counterparts in NATO warned Hungary about its excessive delay in the story of Sweden’s membership in this military alliance. They have stated that America’s patience with this country’s actions has ended.
Meanwhile, the lawmakers of Viktor Orban’s party, the Prime Minister of Hungary, called an emergency session of the parliament. They sanctioned this country, where Sweden’s proposal to join NATO was supposed to be on the agenda of the legislators. This action added to the country’s 18-month delay in reviewing Sweden’s membership in NATO. As of July 2022, it has suspended Sweden’s bid to join NATO, claiming that Swedish politicians have told “outright lies” about the conditions of democracy in Hungary. The ruling party in this country insists that the Prime Minister of Sweden must first visit Hungary to resolve these accusations.
Since the beginning of the war between Ukraine and Russia, Two countries, Sweden and Finland, have expressed their desire to join NATO since February 24.
