He answered this question. What are the expectations of the American government from the Doha meeting and does it see this as a move to normalize the Taliban, he said: “There is no attempt by the American government to normalize relations or recognize the Taliban.”
Karbi added: “The United States has repeatedly said that if the Taliban government wants to be seen as legitimate rulers, they must fulfill all the commitments they have made”.

Earlier, UN officials in Afghanistan said that one of the topics of this meeting is to examine the issue of recognizing the Taliban government; However, Kabul officials have doubts about this and emphasize that they will be willing to participate in the meeting after the composition and agenda are clarified.
