Arrest of 281 illegal immigrants in different provinces of Türkiye

Turkish security forces arrested 281 illegal immigrants in different provinces of the country and sent them to places for deportation to their countries of origin.

Edirne province located in the northwest of Turkey revealed in a statement that the authorities of this province arrested 166 illegal immigrants who were trying to cross the country’s border to Europe within a week. They did.

According to Anatolia news agency, the security forces in Baliksir province also arrested 30 illegal immigrants and two people suspected of being involved in human trafficking in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Turkish Coast Guard rescued 14 migrants from drowning in the Fethiye area of ​​Mugla province in the southwest after being stuck in the sea due to bad weather conditions in the last 24 hours. Also in Mugla, coast guard forces rescued 32 illegal immigrants, including 4 children, who were pushed by Greek authorities towards Turkish territorial waters off the coast of Bodrum region.

The authorities of Izmir province also saved 39 illegal immigrants, including 24 children, from drowning after the coast guard released them towards Turkish territorial waters. All illegal immigrants were transferred to deportation centers in the provinces where they are based to complete their legal procedures.

Not long ago, the Turkish police announced that they arrested 37 migrants, including 11 women, 10 men and 16 children, due to illegal entry brought to Turkey by smugglers. It is said that the nationality of most of these immigrants is Afghan.
