Grossi: I will go to Iran next month
Rafael Grossi, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, claimed that Iran continues to enrich uranium while it is still a little short of the weapons level. |
Grossi told Reuters on Monday that he wants to visit Tehran next month for the first time in a year to end the distance between the two sides.
After the meeting with the foreign ministers of the European Union, the Director General of the IAEA claimed that while the speed of uranium enrichment has decreased slightly since the end of last year, Iran is still enriching 7 kg of uranium by 60% monthly.
Grossi claimed: There are alarming statements, you may have heard that high-ranking Iranian officials say that they recently have all the necessary elements for a nuclear weapon.
The director general of the agency continued: It seems that we are drifting apart. Iran says it does not receive incentives from the West, but I find this logic very complicated to understand because they have to cooperate with us. It should never be conditioned by economic motives or anything else.
