According to the regional office of Tasnim news agency, “Tareq Ali Bakhit, the special representative of the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Afghanistan, announced that the situation in Afghanistan will be one of the priorities of the upcoming summit of Islamic countries in Gambia and the Council of Foreign Ministers in Cameroon.
Based on the announcement published by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Bakhib also emphasized at the Doha meeting on supporting Afghanistan and constructive dialogue with the actual authorities in Afghanistan on the issues and topics contained in the relevant resolutions of the Council of Foreign Ministers.
On the sidelines of the Doha meeting, he also reviewed the efforts of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in providing humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, sending academic delegations and holding a conference on women’s rights in Islam.
The announcement added that Bakhit had several meetings with a number of international special envoys for Afghanistan on the sidelines of the Doha meeting.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has announced the holding of two other meetings about Afghanistan, during which This month, the Afghanistan regional cooperation initiative meeting, the European Union and Central Asian representatives’ meeting, as well as the Doha international meeting for Afghanistan have been held in Kabul to discuss the situation in this country.
On the other hand, some news sources say that the UN Security Council is also going to hold a meeting next week about appointing a special representative of this organization for Afghanistan.
