The Islamic resistance movement Hamas emphasized today Tuesday that it strongly condemns the veto of the resolution proposed by Algeria to the Security Council for a ceasefire in Gaza by the United States.
This movement added that the direct responsibility for preventing the issuance of a resolution to stop the war in Gaza lies with Biden and his administration.
The United Nations announced that the United States has vetoed a resolution to establish an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, which is the second such action by Washington since the beginning of efforts to stop the war in the Gaza Strip.
The draft of this resolution was submitted by Algeria, which was finally vetoed by the United States with 13 votes in favor and the British vote.
The White House, in justifying the US action to veto the resolution to establish an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, announced that Washington was not able to support the UN Security Council resolution because it would jeopardize the sensitive negotiations.
The White House went on to say: America hopes that the negotiations for the release of the prisoners will come to fruition soon.
