Russia: The US veto is a license for more killing in Gaza

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia said that the US veto on Algeria's draft resolution in the Security Council is a license to kill innocent people in the Gaza Strip.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Thursday that the US veto on Algeria’s draft resolution in the UN Security Council on Gaza is a license to continue killing innocent people in the Gaza Strip.

Bogdanov told Sputnik news agency: This is a very negative issue, and this is not the first time that the Americans use their veto to not approve a resolution calling for an end to the war.

He added: Basically, the US veto is a license to continue killing innocent people in Gaza, where 30,000 women and children have lost their lives so far.

It is worth noting that on Tuesday, the United States rejected Algeria’s draft resolution in the UN Security Council, which called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, using its veto. Algeria’s draft resolution was not approved in the Security Council meeting despite 13 votes in favor due to the opposition of the United States.

Algerian representative to the United Nations, Ammar bin Jame, stated that his country will once again demand an end to the sea of blood in Palestine until the Council assumes its responsibility and establishes an immediate ceasefire. Security cannot be satisfied with maintaining peace.

He explained that the draft resolution submitted to the Security Council calls for a humanitarian ceasefire, the unimpeded entry of aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip, and the prevention of forced displacement, and compliance with the procedures ordered by the International Court of Justice.
