According to the report of rescue forces, following a massive fire in a residential building in the city of Valencia, Spain, at least 5 people have died and some are missing. This massive fire engulfed a 14-story apartment in the Campanar district of Valencia, and the fire spread to the adjacent building.
Firefighters have been evacuating residents from their balconies and it is estimated that 20 people are still missing. At least 14 people, including six firefighters and a young child, were injured in this incident.
High winds fueled the flames, but there is also speculation that the building’s highly flammable cladding contributed to the fire’s rapid spread. More than 20 firefighting teams intervened to control the fire and people were asked to stay away from this area.
El Pais newspaper quoted the building manager and reported that this building contains 138 apartments and 450 people lived in it. Local reports indicate that firefighters have rescued several residents using a crane.
