According to the report of the international group Tasnim news agency quoting “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” newspaper, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that she wants to release about 130 billion euros of frozen funds for Poland, which is a political decision in favor of Donald Tusk, the new Prime Minister of this country. In the previous government, the European Union Commission blocked this budget.

Thus, Urzo La von der Leyen, the head of the European Commission, has announced good news for Warsaw, which It has caused a lot of noise. In this way, next week, the EU Commission will make two decisions on previously frozen funds. This European official said: “These decisions will free up to 137 billion euros for Poland.” He, who announced this news in a meeting with Donald Tusk, made the new prime minister of this country happy. Tusk said: We achieved what we wanted. We didn’t wait that long.

In mid-December, Tusk met von der Leyen in Brussels and asked for the first installment of the Corona Reconstruction Fund to country to be paid, which includes 6.3 billion euros. In total, by the end of 2026, around 60 billion euros in loans and grants are earmarked for Warsaw. The government of this country has only been able to access five billion euros so far. The rest of the money is a priori tied to the so-called “flexible structures”. Dissolve the Supreme Court – this happened last summer. In addition, previous disciplinary decisions had to be reviewed, which has also been completed. However, the bill to reform police jurisdiction, which was aimed at strengthening judicial independence, has been blocked. Polish President Andrzej Duda submitted the law to the Constitutional Court loyal to the Law and Justice Party. However, the new Polish government took several temporary measures that do not require this law. It is a political decision. As von der Leyen said in Warsaw, he does not want to give Duda the opportunity to stop the payments, although the Tusk government has made “resolute efforts” to “restore the rule of law”. According to him, this includes the fact that the Polish government declared to the Commission in mid-January that it respects the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union in all cases. In the summer of 2022, the government led by the Law and Justice party – surprisingly for Brussels – rejected this. The Commission was then forced to completely freeze 74 billion euros from the Cohesion Fund. Now the European Commission has announced that it will reconsider this case as well. Especially the Poles who voted again on October 15 for democracy and the rule of law. “They are the real heroes of this story that is now over.” This funding will help alleviate where there are concerns and tensions today, and is also an act of justice to a people who have done more for democracy and the rule of law in recent decades than anyone else. ” According to him, since the first tranche, 1.4 billion euros “goes directly to small and medium-sized food producers” and gives them a sense of security and perspective.

Tusk said that these protesters are not against Ukraine. But the EU also exists to protect the market of EU citizens. He added: “Poland had to wait ten years to receive equal conditions for its agriculture after joining the European Union.” Help Ukraine and sacrifice the basic interests of large sections of our people. Von der Leyen is traveling from Poland to Kyiv on the second anniversary of the Russian attack, where other high-profile guests are expected on Saturday.
