The presence of Western leaders in Ukraine and the promise of continued support for this war-torn country

The President of the European Commission and the Prime Ministers of Italy, Belgium and Canada visited Ukraine and announced their continued support for this country in the war.

On the three-year anniversary of the war in Ukraine, Georgia Maloney, Justin Trudeau and Alexander de Croo, the prime ministers of Italy, Canada and Belgium, along with Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, traveled to this war-torn country.

According to Reuters, during this visit, which was made in order to alleviate the concerns of Kyiv, the Prime Minister of Canada announced that he will send about 2.25 billion dollars in financial and military aid to Kyiv this year.

Volodymyr Zelensky said in his speech on the occasion of the anniversary of the war in Ukraine: “Every ordinary person wants the end of the war.” But none of us will allow the end of Ukraine. The word “independent” will always remain next to the word “Ukraine” in history.

The trip of European and Canadian leaders to Ukraine takes place while the $61 billion aid promised by US President Joe Biden has been blocked by Republicans in Congress.

After initial successes in pushing back the Russian army in the early months of the war, Ukraine has recently suffered setbacks on the battlefields in the east, with its generals complaining of a growing shortage of weapons and troops. Zelensky, who seeks to maintain the West’s focus on Ukraine, has warned that if Putin wins, he may not stop at Ukraine’s borders. However, the Russian president has rejected such claims.

In addition to asking for money and weapons, Ukraine’s president is pushing legislation that would allow Ukraine to mobilize another half a million soldiers; A goal that according to some economists can paralyze the economy of this country.
