Al Jazeera quoted Le Monde as saying: Due to the problems related to sending military aid to Ukraine in the US Congress and the heavy casualties caused by Israel’s war in Gaza, a dark atmosphere has cast a shadow over the Western regimes.
According to Le Monde’s report, indicators show that liberal democracies are going through a moment of doubt and existential weakness, so that they seem to have no voice in the test of values and, instead, focus on highlighting their power.
The author pointed out that part of this dark atmosphere comes from Washington due to the possibility of Trump coming to power, and continued: Europeans are more afraid that Trump will stop supporting Kiev. Regardless of the outcome of the American elections, Europeans should prepare to live without America.
Le Monde concludes: America’s credibility has been called into question due to the tragic situation of the Palestinians in Gaza.
