report Mehr News Agency quoted by Ryanovsi, Alexey Chapa, the first deputy of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma, in response to the statement of the Group of Seven (G7) countries, announced the plan of the Group of Seven countries to force Moscow to Compensation for Kiev’s losses in exchange for the release of Russian assets is theft and blackmail.
He said: This is a violation of all international laws. I think they say this out of desperation. It is clear that they will not achieve anything by doing this. They cannot and will not hand over [the frozen Russian assets to Ukraine], as they have threatened more than once. So, this is another pathetic attempt at blackmail.
Yesterday, Saturday, the leaders of the Group of Seven countries held a virtual meeting under the chairmanship of Italy, where they discussed issues related to the support of Ukraine, and at the end, they made a joint statement. The joint statement states that Russian assets will remain frozen until Moscow pays compensation to Kiev.
