Novak is one of the close allies of Viktor Orban, the conservative prime minister of Hungary, and was elected with the support of the ruling Fidej party.

Solyuk, who was elected to the presidency for a five-year term, said in a statement: “As a lawyer and also as the president, I will do my best for the public good and the unity of the nation and adherence to fundamental values ​​and the law.” .

In a speech, he also promised to act transparently in pardoning and awarding presidential awards and medals.

Solyuk has been the president of the Constitutional Court of Hungary since 2016 and will officially start his work as the president of this country on March 5th (15 March).
