Aliyev: Baku is closer to peace with Yerevan than ever

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan said: Baku is now closer to peace with Yerevan than at any other time in the past.

Tas news agency wrote: Ilham Aliyev stated at the opening ceremony of the 11th Baku World Forum entitled “Restoring the Fragmented World” that the Republic of Azerbaijan is ready to continue peace talks. It is with Armenia, because according to him, it is time to end instability in the region.

The Baku World Assembly, organized by the Ganjavi International Military Center, has been held since 2013. The Madrid Club is one of the pioneers of creating such an international dialogue platform that brings together more than 80 former presidents and former prime ministers from 56 countries.

The first forum was held on the situation of the South Caucasus, but then it was decided to call it global due to the extent of the issues raised in it, which was of a regional nature. More than 400 representatives from 68 countries are present in the 11th Assembly.

The senior official of Armenia announced earlier that this country is ready to sign a peace agreement with the Republic of Azerbaijan if Baku has the necessary political will.

Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kastanyan told Reuters news agency in an interview during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey: Yerevan has the political will to normalize relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan based on the principles that were previously agreed between the parties.
