Asif Ali Khan Durrani, Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs, claimed in a meeting that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) receives money from India through Afghan representatives and estimates that 5,000 to 6,000 TTP militants have taken refuge in Afghanistan. /p>
Durani said at the meeting “Afghanistan Peace and Reconciliation: Interests and Options of Pakistan’s Policy” organized by the Pakistan Institute of Peace Studies in Islamabad. He supported the controversial decision of the interim government of Pakistan to restrict traffic in the tribal areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan and also stated: Islamabad should implement the single-document regime at all border crossings with Afghanistan.
