Qatar: We are optimistic about achieving progress in the Gaza ceasefire negotiations

The spokesperson of Qatar's Foreign Ministry says it is still too early to talk about progress in the Gaza ceasefire negotiations; But Doha is optimistic.

“Majed Al Ansari”, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, this afternoon (Tuesday), while announcing the latest developments in the Gaza ceasefire talks in Doha, said that the talks in Doha were focused on humanitarian aid and reaching a temporary ceasefire agreement.

Negotiations to establish a ceasefire in Gaza and exchange prisoners, with the mediation of Qatar and Egypt, are currently being held in Doha, and Tel Aviv has recently announced that it has sent a delegation to Qatar for negotiations.

According to the reports of Al-Jazeera and Al-Mayadeen networks, the spokesman of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today: “It is still too early to talk about progress in the negotiations; But we are optimistic about this.”

He also mentioned that the Mossad delegation that came to Qatar to negotiate the Gaza ceasefire has left Doha and the technical negotiations are still ongoing.

Majed Al-Ansari added after the attack of the Israeli army on Rafah this morning: “Any attack on the Rafah area will have a negative effect on the dialogue process.”

The Foreign Ministry of the Self-Government Organization announced at noon today that the Israeli army attacked areas in the densely populated area of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip at dawn today, which resulted in the martyrdom of dozens of Palestinians. About one and a half million Palestinians live in this area, and the countries of the world and the United Nations have warned about the consequences of any attack on this area.

Al-Ansari continued: “The occupiers should take responsibility for the health of civilians and medical facilities.”

He also said that Qatar is trying to ensure the arrival of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip with the help of its regional and global partners.

The people of Gaza are under siege by Israeli forces, and the Israeli army only allows limited humanitarian aid to enter the region. So far, more than 31,700 Palestinians have been martyred in the attacks of the Israeli army, most of whom were women and children.

The spokesperson of Qatar’s Foreign Ministry also said in another part of his speech: “The attack on journalists in Al-Shifa Medical Complex has no explanation other than an attempt to cover up the crimes.”

Yesterday, Israeli forces attacked al-Shifa Medical Complex in the Gaza Strip and arrested one of the journalists of “Al Jazeera” in this center.
