Grossi went to meet Bashar Assad

After his trip to Damascus, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency met with the Syrian president and emphasized the importance of "active and continuous dialogue between the agency and Syria".

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, visited Syrian President Bashar this Tuesday evening.

The office of the Syrian President announced that Assad and Grossi reviewed the cooperation between Damascus and the International Atomic Energy Agency regarding peaceful programs; Especially in the fields of health, cancer treatment, agriculture and scientific research.

In this meeting, Grossi emphasized the importance of “active and continuous dialogue between the Agency and Syria”.

The Director General of the Agency also met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani in Baghdad on Monday and said that the purpose of this meeting is to help the country to develop peaceful nuclear programs.

Al-Sudani also stated in this meeting that Iraq “was among the first countries that tried to join the agency and adhere to its agreements and to establish nuclear reactors for peaceful nuclear purposes, because Iraq believes that nuclear energy It should be the source of prosperity and not the development of deadly weapons.”

In this meeting, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency invited the Iraqi Prime Minister to participate in the nuclear energy conference that is scheduled to be held this month in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, and thanked Iraq for its cooperation with the agency. He thanked.
