Details of the plan presented by Washington to the Security Council for a cease-fire in Gaza

The American draft resolution presented to the Security Council rejects “any attempt to change the population or territory in Gaza” and emphasizes “Washington’s firm commitment to the prospect of a two-state solution”.

This plan defines the role of all UN humanitarian agencies and welcomes the Secretary-General’s decision to investigate allegations that some UN and UNRWA staff were involved in the October 7 attacks.

Providing details, this newspaper pointed out that this plan is based on “the effort of the Israeli military to prevent the transfer of weapons to Rafah, which will lead to suppressing the ability of Hamas to carry out another attack against Israel.” The Politico website wrote that this plan is part of the set of options that the United States will propose to prevent a ground attack in the south of the Gaza Strip.
